First-principles calculations are employed to elucidate the modes of attosecond charge migration (CM) inhalogenated hydrocarbon chains.We use constrained density functional theory (DFT) to emulate the creationof a localized hole on the halogen and follow the subsequent dynamics via time-dependent DFT.
